Well looking at the radar the snow area appears to be centred right over croydon for the last 2 hours.  24hrs ago this was the area where everything was clear. What a difference a day makes.

I’m fairly low elevation at south Croydon but it’s been mostly persistent sleet/rain

Still snowing lightly in Reigate but not much settling here. The traffic cams on the m25 on Reigate Hill show quite a bit settling on the verges...

Maybe I've got a bit more elevation than you, our pavements and grass completely covered and still steady snow.

6 hours later and it's still coming down. Not sure anyone saw this coming. Got about 5cm covering on everything although I can hear it melting too.

This is insane!!

Buses have been abandoned, cars sliding all over the place, 2-4cm at an estimate and that’s at sea level, more even just slightly higher up!!

Just for the sake of consistency, it’s still p1ssing down with rain in Horley five miles away. Is Horley actually below sea level?!

Damn snow band is getting lighter now as it starts to slip south over south London, gonna struggle to settle unless it picks up, given up hope of a covering tonight I think

22:00hrs update from Southend.

Still raining. Getting on for pretty much 22hrs now bar the odd flake.

Absolutely sick as a parrot.

Same for me here in Maldon! Absolutely fed up with this winter

Some quite bizarre scenarios playing out locally here.

In short, In three different spots locally snow is falling at lower elevations with sleet and wet snow higher up!

I’m in woodhatch so quite low down compared to much of Reigate...

It’s well known that Horley is practically a swamp!

That's awesome. What camera do you use?

Just my iPhone XS, very good camera these days!

Cannot wait to see the re-analysis of what went wrong/right tonight, nothing like this was expected

Can't believe it will be 10 years ago tomorrow since we saw that classic Thames streamer event!
