Wow is that really chafford. Left lakeside at 8 was coming down hard but nothing had settled. Came through laiandon hills and it was like the Alps was scary with a van  going sideways in front. Got the other side to noak bridge and nothing is settling. It's mad how localising the difference between settling and not is.

Upto 0.5c, looks like I've finally got a little of that sligjhtly milder entrained ait around the circulation, explains the sleety appearance of the snow as well. Not really all that bothered though, I'm plenty satisfied with this, even if it does suffer from melt for the next 3-6hrs.

South Norwood is crap for snow.. It's snowing nicely up here in Selsdon.

Appears that way, Selsdon has the advantage of elevation too, what heading towards 100m asl?

Its started sticking on rooftops in canary wharf! pretty heavy band over us. all day of rain, but finally seeing some action. Still too wet to stick to pavements but i’ll take anything at 0m and in a UHE. Greenwich should be in the firing line now.

Kold

I enjoyed February 2005, snow amounts were a bit Meh..........................But there was actually snow falling somewhere in the SE on 23 of the 28 days.

February 1st-2ND 2009 I certainly did not Enjoy.

There was another February event cant remember the year when a reverse streamer Set-Up, this is the ESE Thames Snow Streamer that hits Maidstone, Gravesend, then crosses into NE London and hits NW London and Herts really bad.

It’s snowing here in Catford but it lacks intensity. That’s why I asked. I’m guessing it’s slowly slipping southwards.

Not a lot, but starting to give a covering.

Didn’t get half as much work today as I should and wanted too , sometimes being a weather nut and especially as someone as loves snow has its down side , any way I was really surprised the amount of times I would look out the window to see a few flakes mixed in with the rain and it even switched to snow a few times before changing back to rain, it just made me think it could have been an absolutely epic event , and in a weird way an unusual one be it was not preceded really by any meaningful easterly of northerly . The upside to not having loads of snow is a massive headache at work like last year when by the end of it all , me of all people was wishing it had never snowed at all .

Goodness me, the arc of snow wrapping around London not budging, while here in Croydon it remains in an eternal hole of drizzle, lol.

Incredibly frustrating isn’t it Nick. It does seem to be very slowly on the way south now and it’s turned more moderate here in the last 20 mins. The slow moving nature is good news if it holds together of course

Yep - more moderate now. Hopefully getting heavier in the next hour or so

Loving the snow in Bexley! Totally unexpected tonight!

I know, it's brilliant, especially after yesterday's disappointment! Everything is all white here and it's still coming down

Is there anymore for East Sussex or is it focussed more North of the home counties?

Still snowing lightly but starting to melt a little

I know, I was genuinely pleasantly surprised when I finally got up to look out the window as really didn't think it would start to settle after raining all day.  I hope it continues to snow for a while yet - would be nice to have enough to leave a crunchy footmark in it

Well I have never seen anything like it, my lake from all that rain today has disappeared, its still snowing pretty heavy and its settled even on the main road. Got about an inch of snow, best of the winter so far.

I even bovered, I mean bovered, taking some pics just now.
