Have been sat under that stream coming into Kent off The Channel for 6 hours - it’s been pouring with rain all afternoon - imagine if that had been snow! Thrilled to see other areas in our region being buried x

Mostly rain here with a few flakes.

Amazing seeing what other areas to my west have had. Just shows you that you never know what can happen even a few hours out.

would obviously love a surprise but it’s so wet here that I just can’t see how if it turns to snow that it would settle. It’s have to be so heavy to stand a chance

Its not so much moving SE as pulsing SE. You can see that one line of snow dies off, then another forms to its SE, and this process is repeating itself over and over again.

However the area is also contracting as the area of higher energy shrinks, as was forecasted by the models.

Backbuilding by the looks of things

This was not forecast ? Snow was meant to stop after after 1pm but now more snow than the original event ? So now I understand nowcast....

Have you got snow now?

Hope you have! We deserve it after yesterday nights rubbish!

Light snow now as the main band is just to my NW, but every bit of snow should settle from now on, so it all helps!

It's not all snow out here. Still raining in Portsmouth. Despite having a dedicated new weather warning over us! Total opposite of last night when it was snowing when the Met said there should be heavy rain!

How deep is it in Liphook @kold weather

Radar building over London. We have light sleety, wet snow. Hopefully if the intensity builds and the temp keeps dropping it will become proper snow.

you must be close to the snow line, it may still change over as the system moves SE over the next 2-3hrs. May not be a huge amount left by that point, but I'd be really sad for you if you were to get nothing, because last night really wasn't great round our area.
