Looks like a heavy band moving into south london. sleety rain here at the moment, any idea whether it could turn to snow?

The whole region has turned orange and red now. A3 is getting heavier as well as rush hour starts and the snow continues to build up.

Basingstoke is a utter mess though!

Love watching this, almost as good as watching the radar!! Thanks Whitefox!

Yes, a bit messy here. Hope everyone stays safe. I'm about 5 miles north of Stokey.

Temp has taken a bit of a dip -0.5c and snow coming down heavily. All a bit surreal!

Is this the first time that I’ve ever wanted to go to Basingstoke?

Its actually quite a nice place I found!

I/'m just outside a heavy band, next development downstream and I'll get back into the heavy stuff, indeed I can see it just starting to develop on the radar.

Those pictures from Basingstoke are real impressive though for sure!

I'm still just clinging onto +0c values, at 0.3c but it has been slowly but surely dropping in the last hour and I'd imagine once the main bands swing through that will be the push to go sub-zero here as well.

Talk about pulling victory from the jaws of defeat. Cold spell, you've redeemed yourself here!

Have 10cms of lying snow here and have done better than expected.  Has been snowing pretty much all day, varying between light and moderate to heavy.  Light snow currently and not expecting to get any more now.

After such a beautiful sunny   crisp cold day yesterday, today could not be more different, significant rainfall ☔️ ? here in the east of East Sussex, a lot of surface water on my drive to Crawley and back. Envious of those in the Bath area a whole ruler length of snow! As others have mentioned these parts need a good Easterly to up our chances of ‘non marginal stick around for a bit snow.’

Wishing all those the best who are in with a shout of decent snow fall tonight, the one upside for me I might be able to get a proper sleep not dashing to the window every five minutes..!

Is that it for Hendon and the North London brigade or are we in with a chance this talk of se direction seems to be putting us out of the game or is this a lull we are in

Sky is going Orange though I've found in these situation at this time into night time that it can be a good indicator

Well. A bit of reverse psychology may work for me....

I never wanted snow anyway. In fact, if it snowed, I'd be so gutted. SO GUTTED.

IF that doesn't work, I actually give up!

Even if it stopped right now I'd be happy enough with this, more like what I was expecting last night, but I suppose I'll take a slight delay!

I think its not going anywhere too fast though the heavier stuff will keep working SE/SSE and slowly become less impressive over the next couple of hours. Still, could easily get another inch or two in that time if your in the heavier stuff!

Back in Kingston. Snow turned to rain pretty much as I got onto the M3 at Bagshot and green as anything back here in KT5

They were holding traffic on the westbound lanes when I got the M25 turn off.

Looks like game is on again and maybe even for a few who missed out on the jackpot last night!

i'm looking forward to the chance of those showers from the north sea potentially bringing a bit of a dusting here soon

Snow line should be creeping westward now the sun is going down, I'd be stunned if SW Surrey doesn't join the snow party soon, if it hasn't already!

would hope you mean east
