I'm in this clear space with 0ppn according to the radar but it's heavy snow on the ground.

Whereas I'm under the red part of South London and NOTHING!

Maybe Netweather are playing with us for being too involved in all this

I think I've almost been as lucky with this as I was unlucky last night. Good way to balance out the luck for sure!

And vice versa here!

Think Crawley is going to get unlucky with bands either side but not heading this way! Fascinating viewing though, good luck to those getting the snow

It’s really fascinating stuff but Brighton looks like it will be missed this time around. Although it could be building up on the radar, looks more like rain though

Fab snow day, with lots of sledging this afternoon. About 10 cm here near Amersham. Had our fair share this week and last. Hope those that haven’t had any yet get some this evening.

When driving up to the in-laws in Stony Stratford I pass the fields around Amersham, always think they'd be amazing for sledging!

Huge fluffy snowflakes have been coming down moderately/heavily for the last hour just ENE of Basingstoke. Have had 3-4" already with no sign of a let up. Jack-knifed lorries and roads blocked all around. Keep it coming.

Also jackpot location this time will be Basingstoke (maybe obvious already!) That banding area will move SSE/SE through Hampshire and probably S.Surrey into W.Sussex bit it won't be uniform. You may get lucky and catch a training band of convection, in which case totals will be higher. If not then probably 2-3cms from the Met office warning area will be about right.

PS, that band must be turning snowy over Guildford by now, surely?!

Believe me - I've never said this before " I love Stokey!" (Basingstoke)❄️❄️

Wish it would edge more NW. So frustrating sitting in a huge, relatively, dry gap in South London

Looks like its moving NW, maybe WNW. going to be a close run thing BUT I think all that is going to come in from the east anyway as that low is now taking control of the steering currents and wrapping all the precipitation into itself.

These last two days have been great for learning about LP formation. I'm so used to seeing it from afar with developing tropical cyclones, but to see it on top of me has been real interesting, regardless of result.

Now more snow than last night officially.

The hill we were on was empty so took a few runs to pack down and get some speed up! But good fun and the kids loved it!

Whole area looks in chaos. Gaps in flow on google traffic show that several roads are now blocked. Lots of accidents reported as well.
