A patchy dusting here but I suspect the UHI is a tad stronger in this part of London.

Finally something for my part of Herts... took some time to get really going but was good when it did.

Back to snow 4 me now. Shows how marginal it is what a chase, real lamppost/teletext days. Have to say netweather radar has not been the greatest. But it's something to look at rather than el lampost.

Looking forward I still believe it is going to be soon. ECM to look forward for us on the mods

Coming down harder than ever now and wind has picked up too. Looks great out there!

I've really needed to go bed, but this area of snow has been keeping me on guard!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming. Week Ahead: Cool but largely dry until later in the week, when low pressure returns

We keep a chilly northerly flow going through much of the coming week, especially noticeable in the east. Cloud and rain spreading south Monday, but after that, most places largely dry until later in the week, when it looks to turn more showery. Read the full update here
