There seems to be a significant pepping up of the front around the Bracknell Forest area across to the woking area, coming down the M3 a bit.. Thats grown quite markedly so in the last 15 mins.  And the showers moving in to Hampshire and W Sussex look meaty too. !

They are heavier than anything thus far for sure.

Of course the one that was on track to clip me is decaying at a rate of knots. There must be some serious hill shadowing going on for this to keep happening. In a way its quite impressive.

11.15pm Kold update - I'll let you guess ;)

Stopped on the seafront in Hastings/St Leonards now. Will be all for tonight here. So much for 9pm til 4am!

Half a centimetre on the wall... that's about it. Wasn't to be tonight but enjoy it whoever has a good amount!

Still snowing here in St Leonards but just a light covering on all surfaces. It's been a bit breezy though and feeling cold as a result. Lost my tv satellite signal here in the last half hour, presumably weather related.

We need photos!

I was going to, but he saw me watching him and decided to come straight inside and now won't go out. Would've been a great photo, hopefully will catch him tomorrow chasing and trying to catch flakes, he loves doing it!

Okay, now we are talking. The first decent chunk pushing in off the estuary into north (east) London. 4/10. Proper nice fluffy snow coming in off the easterly.

Slightly heavier snow in Reigate now but still very light in the grand scheme of things.  Woodburner going nicely though so it would be a waste to pack it in for the night just yet.

I'm refusing to look out of the window now. Question Time has my attention, and I'm going to see it through....

I miss the surprise of not knowing what is coming.

Until someone reports snow falling in my area, of course

Essex Weather Retweeted Simon Keeling

Clear to see the newer run (18Z) has a lot more snow across Essex. This seems to tie in with what's developing over the Thames Estuary and Southern North Sea.

Starting to think we may be in a real sweet spot here just south of Reading. Over last ten minutes greens and yellows have started appearing right overhead.

One *last look out the front window before sleep and there is snow in the air but not convinced any of it is actually landing, just recirculating, frustrating.

*Might just check again in a bit

Goin have another check you know you want too

Local differences are amazing. Up here it just keeps filling: Every time I look at the radar it seems a drier slot is approaching, but then more appears.

Will be watching for the pressure to steady which would indicate that the front is stalling. To be honest, it's falling so slowly now I think it has already slowed right down.

You got into the active frontal zone, and I missed out by probably 15 miles and got stuck in the subsidence from it.

Shower activity is still filling in the frontal zone...but I really do need a decent blast of snow to get rid of the drier air still lingering here, plus to get anything onto the ground and allow us with a chance of even a dusting...because the snizzle we have right now is doing more harm than good and making the ground wet.
