Yes, but guess where that gap between the snow showers is heading...yep...couldn't make that up!

I dont think its all over for you. That whole you speak of is on the move. Like an eye of a hurricane. light snow is moving in from across Dorset now generally in your direction.. (trying everything here to find some snow for you). What is your dew point like ? It will help if its moved up nearer  32oF ?

Ditto that!

What do you think of South Essex, maybe even further north? Looks to me like it'll swing round and give Essex some decent lovin?

Okay we’re away! Small flakes blowing about in the not insignificant wind, just outside Brentwood. Most of it’s in the air but it’s a start! ??

Happened to us at 7:30 got so excited it was like the starting credits to an AMAZING film.....

Then it just. stopped.

Moderate snow in Rochester now, a covering on the cars and road almost covered too now in just ten minutes or so! Not bad!

Honestly I’m praying for something.... just a covering.  But my 10 year old insisted on getting her snow boots out, she’s bloomin jinxed it hasn’t she?

I think we are not being helped by some subsidence occurring on the NE side of the LP and to the south of the first front that blew up literally over my head as its come up from the Channel Islands. That has not helped us one bit at all, any precipitation has just died and left a dry slot.

Some shower activity into West Sussex, yay!

Looks like they are merging with the back of the front. Thats a result. More snow in Sussex in the coming hours.

Seems to break up before it gets to us. Chingford here too

If the big lump in the estuary pushes back in on the easterly breeze we could be in. But, not confident. I never am.

Our cat is chasing snow flakes in the back garden right now, bless him, under the light I put on to watch the snow come down. Only me and him up now to see if anything worthy comes.

Will do...but I am 45 miles inland so I didn't think it would be such a factor. Hirlam shows my increased temps to 4C and dps not rising above 0C.

I don't have the skill set to necessarily understand it all myself; my curiosity is more about the seemingly huge shift in such a short space of time at such short notice (i.e. would sea temps change rapidly enough to even catch the MO off guard?). I know local variations will always come in to play but it seems quite a wide spread. Hmmm.

Happy now bud?

Total trash mate. Perhaps in the next couple of hours. Don’t think I will wait though as the radar doesn’t fill me with excitement to be honest.

I have my eye on that too, hope it keeps going and makes it this far inland!
