Latest chart shows the shortwave in the Channel developing into a small low separate from the main low.

Does that mean a further precipitation push Nick?

According to that radar we're supposed to having a slight snow shower but nothing. The radar has changed though to pink in the channel which is odd and the green has moved further east. Regardless how accurate that radar is - If that pink pivots North and smacks into us....could be an interesting night.

Just proves how unpredictable snow is to forecast, fingers crossed hopefully you're right

What I might do to bring it to Medway & Maidstone is go and walk the dog in my shorts, that might work!

Just plopping it down with rain in Eastbourne I'm told by my family, even though snowing in Seaford along the coast.

1.8C with 0.8 dew point, 3mm of rain an hour going to waste!

Moderate snow willingdon trees.

How far north do you think it’ll go?

ESSEX WEATHER just tweeted

21:00 Update: Little change with northern extent... band of snow stalling somewhere over SE corner later tonight and slowly pulling away on Friday. A greater risk however of snow turning to rain or sleet, esp coastal with less cold air mixing in from North Sea. 1/2

Hi Nick. Will that be good for SW Essex? Thanks

It should help steer the heavier precip further north . South of the River is still better though . It’s still early though . Let’s see how things develop over the next hour .

It looks like Chris Fawkes is going to be right!!

Most in Kent will see no heavy snow!

It's trying here now, can't tell if it's heavy, just seeing what's blowing past the lamp post.

Radar blips...Radar is good when it's raining but for snow it seems it can't handle it.

it's the same every year...Maybe it is the Wind farms  around our coast.

Apparently I'll be getting four hours of moderate snow from 2am.

Not convinced of that, but I'll definitely be awake to witness whatever transpires as I have a two day old baby, who evidently hates sleeping anywhere other than on me

It probably is too far east for me though unfortunately. If you have the heavy stuff to your south, you will be fine...but for me unfortunately, its to my SE and not rotating any further west than it already is. That's why I'm in the screw zone, because I've not got any decent snowfall with a realistic chance of reaching here, just light rubbish that may not even penetrate the dry boundary level.

Out of interest Where are you?I Thought you were in thurrock then you made a comment saying south downs are near you am confused lol how's my area looking snows light but heavier than it was here currently being going 15mins odd

the 'really' heavy stuff just doesn't seem to want to come inland.... is this just a timing thing? hopefully there's someone who has studied meteorology on here who can help me out???
