Got all togged up and went for a walk with my torch, it was snowing lightly. Since I've got home moderate fine flakes are falling covering all surfaces. Lovely to see!!

I'm confused as to what is supposed to be happening for East Anglia...Met Office and NetWeather forecasts are contradicting each other...

southern half of east anglia might catch a bit later on i'm guessing, further south the better seems to be the way its working tonight. i'd say a couple cm in lucky places maybe

It probably is too far east for me though unfortunately. If you have the heavy stuff to your south, you will be fine...but for me unfortunately, its to my SE and not rotating any further west than it already is. That's why I'm in the screw zone, because I've not got any decent snowfall with a realistic chance of reaching here, just light rubbish that may not even penetrate the dry boundary level.

Main event is not hitting until after midnight bud! Chin up all will be white

Thanks, they have been having wee digs at me from the point that I had referenced studying Meteorology. I guess they're feeling bitter because they didn't meet the entry requirements?

I think you might be confused, meteorology is the study of atmospheric sciences, something you clearly have no experience in, you should join the met office weather warning team

Just plopping it down with rain in Eastbourne I'm told by my family, even though snowing in Seaford along the coast.

1.8C with 0.8 dew point, 3mm of rain an hour going to waste!

What a waste indeed! It’s currently snowing here from a smaller batch in Windsor and getting moderate ❄️❄️

It's a mix here now. More wintry in the slightly heavier bursts. Temp has actually gone down since it was snowing. Dp has risen slightly to -0.3. How comes the change to rain when the temp has gone down?

I think its the dewpoints buddy, the flow has gone from west to east over colder land and now is more northerly so we have the flow straight from the sea, you can see this  on the radar as the precipitation is now more south to north as the low system pivots. Its actually more snow now, but on the edge/end of what should of been the best stuff. Oh well!

If a beach in Cornwall, in daylight, gets better snow than the SE today, then I'll be ever so slightly.... happy for them.

How about just let it go and enjoy the snow chase so we can all enjoy this snow event, It takes a lot to wind me up. Waiting what feels like 3 days for this snow is testing my patience.

Been snowing lightly in Ashford Kent for about an hour but nothing settling as all just blowing around and disappearing.  Still nice to see though.

Main event is moving through right now, it is due to stall in this area but eventually the front should fill somewhat, but I'm not seeing any signs of being in a place which will take advantage of it, too far west for the stuff coming in from the channel, too for south for the initial band, too far east for the light stuff to the west, and didn't get anything from the south which hit Portsmouth earlier.

I think it may well be white, but the white so thin that the frost was thicker this morning!

Latest chart shows the shortwave in the Channel developing into a small low separate from the main low.

Hi Nick. Will that be good for SW Essex? Thanks
