Typical I’m away with the military leaving my little girl at home who rarely sees snow, just had a message from the wife saying heavy snow and settling on all surfaces. Hope she enjoys it, shame daddy’s not there to see her have fun in it. Bognor Regis

Im sure she will be loving it, probably half the reason most of us are on this forum, childhood memories

I still can't believe how unlucky I am going to be with this one  Some great photos guys, keep them coming in, I will have to enjoy the kentimeter I end up with (ha!).

In all seriousness though, 1cm is better than nothing but...only a little! Especially as those further north and east are going to get a solid 5-10cms...

As Chris101 says, maybe Meteorology is not for you!!!

Wouldn't worry about the gap, it will move through and get replaced by the snow over Brighton.

ONLY worry if your on the western edge of that gap, because the preicp coming up over Sussex won't make it this far west due to the location of the low system and the way the low is rotating.

Genuine chance I might get just a dusting from this. May have to travel tomorrow to find some decent snow cover!!

That hole could take hours to fill though, it's also fizzling out as it hits South London.

Had enough of this already, I'm going up the pub!:oldlaugh:

Very true, but a dusting doesn't really set my world alight, especially as probably 20 miles east and north there is going to probably be a solid 5-10cms from this!

Better than nothing considering some in our region won't get anything! Always next year right?

If HIRLAM is anything to go by it's still early days.

I thought you would be in a decent spot mate

Just bad luck mate,

The heavier stuff is going to slide just to my east, we are missing the moderatre stuff currently to my west, the front strengthened right over my head but the air was still too dry at that point, so nothing.

If I wake up with even 1cm at this rate I'll be surprised, legitimately. May think I'm over-exaggerating, but this is quite possibly the worst spot to be in for snow n the whole frontal zone. (to be fair, the high resolution models did have screw zones, and it was always a risk).

Yeah, but you won't have 5-10cms all around you and your in the hole with a huge amount less?

Looks like I'm going to have to travel to find the snow, it ain't coming here!

Absolutely terrible radar returns for those west and sw of london a covering if lucky.

Yeah not great, unfortunately we will likely be in the screw zone, though at least you have a chance with the stuff coming over Sussex. I've not even got that,.

Oh. and the back end is also weakening to my south, that's the only hope of decent snow for me, and that is disappearing as well! Unreal!

This certainly isn’t going to any plan I read earlier. I’ll probably be roasted for saying that

I can’t work out what’s a good thing and what’s a bad thing anymore - all I see is that no snow appears to be falling from the sky at the moment

Brighter radar returns over the estuary now.  Paul S and the Southend crew could be in luck!?
