All seems to be fizzeling away and pushing quickly eastwards without much inland incursion not really expecting anything now sadly.

A few people have said this now. What radar are you watching? The two I've been watching lately have everything moving in a North easterly direction!

I honestly think we are still an hour or two away from the heavier precipitation which is over the channel. People need to chill and let nature do its thing!

You make that sound so easy. I’m refreshing the radar Avery few moments, begging the front to move north

Raintoday for the last hour has it fizzling out about 15 miles south of Reading, looks to not be pushing up here at all.

Ok heavy snow now lovely big flakes , starting to lay on cars , Portslade near Brighton

As people can see from the radar the heavier precipitation is just starting to make land fall. Backed up from heavier snow reports in Brighton and Hastings. Give it a chance!

Not sure what all the panic is about.

The radar clearly shows the band making northwards progress.

I think it’s a case of who’s going to get the most action. Need a more nw movement from that band for my area westwards.

Showers starting to break out in the north sea around north side of the Thames estuary. If these continue to build they will feed in land north of London when the pivot starts ..

You can see the radar is not playing ball, its hardly moving north, it's mostly going east/north east along the channel. A lot of people are going to be seriously dissapointed as a massive bust in forecasting. If I'm wrong and I hope I am, then I'll say so

I don't know if it's fair to say bust at this stage because the Met Office warning covering us says 1 to 3 cm expected. Yes lots of very clever people on here are suggesting much higher totals and we'll know by tomorrow morning whether the Met Office called it right or not.

This place is a hoot .

I love all the obituaries before the event has even properly started!

Indeed. Most of the models don't have the band hitting London until close to midnight

Not even a tiny flake here yet. My patience is torn to bits so sorry for the drama / negativity

Ooooh! 'runs to the window'.

EDIT: Just got back from the window and the front door. Yes, indeed, we have the flying around in the breeze snowflakes:)

I guess the slower the northwards progression the longer some lucky souls will be under the band

Now that comes from a man who is not only a weather buff but also realistic when it comes to Britain's winters and he lives in France!...I will firmly take that as positive coming from Nick!...I'll hold you to account if it's all grass and tarmac tomorrow though  I doth my cap in your general direction.
