First band looks like it was the sacrifice band to moisten the atmosphere at lower levels. Next band should have no such issue and will give the goods. For those who have had snow from the first band, that's good and will certainly help!

Looks like main action starts from 9-11pm in this region.

Is it due to bring in milder air as it approaches?

Asking for a friend...

Finally have some smallish flakes falling in Shoreham after being under the lighter precip on the radar for nearly a couple of hours...
The heavier band should make landfall soon and pep things up a bit... does seem to be shearing off a bit as it edges closer to land though - I reckon East-Sussex/Kent wwill be the sweet spot later

OH DEAR!

Just had this awful feeling, I just done a radar loop and it looks as if the main band isn't so much pivoting north, but it's sliding up the channel towards France! This has happened before, and you can clearly see the intensity dropping off and scooting up the channel.

Can you guys take a look?

900CM OF SNOW AND A SNOW BOM-- Sorry, I left my daily Express mode on...

I hope we get around 2-3cm, if not more. It *may* turn to rain during the early hours, but we'll see.

Don’t encourage them, i really wouldn’t be surprised if next time we get a heat wave they are talking of heat bombs and thunder bombs

Still no snow here just yet but keeping the faith despite euro 4 and others showing my area largely misses out, my location is Guildford for those on your phones.

Its quite complex, the whole lot is swinging northwards, but IS shearing off eastwards AND also wrapping into the low pressure system to the west.

Best advice I can give is look at the edge of the deeper radar returns on the band in the channe; and watch its direction. The whole lot is coming northwards, but feeding in from the SE.

Hopefully! Although I was less positive than I was a good few hours ago!
