A massive positive just posted by a forecaster I hold in Very high regard and who is always very Conservative - He said draw a line from Wales across to North Essex and that's the snow line - Anyone South of this line could get between 3-7cm obvs more over Hills

Fingers crossed! Oh I do hope so Less squeaky bum time for my area later hopefully

Anyone notice some of the radar returns have been a bit crap as there is heavy precip in one spot which just vanishes in the next

100% defo Snow in Cornwall to Sea Level as well

Yeah, though I do note they were also in some very intense convection as well, which may have dragged the snow level down further. Still I don't think its going to be be remotely marginal by the time it gets here.

Main concern never has been marginality, its all about how far north it gets.

Anyway the front is still marching northwards and the pivot. Just keep coming north front!

Its even 30 minutes ahead of the UK met office radar update at 14z, and given that its clearly got more umphh behind it than the models were expecting at this stage in proceedings. Good signs for sure...

Temperature holding 2.9c here as cloud cover increases.

That’s the most positive post all day from you mate

great news

I'm encouraged by the way its moving north faster than the models expected. Even the very high resolution models are a fair way behind the curve. This means we have more leeway before the front starts to weaken and means this has a good shot at getting further inland, once again before it starts to weaken.

Looks like the northern part of the front is extending eastwards at a fair clip right now, for Hampshire, W.Sussex and Surrey I'd keep a close eye on the radar, there maybe some snow earlier than expected feeding in from the west. It may not quite make it, but very interesting anyway.

mean while the front from the north still coming northwards at a decent rate...

Tell me can you see a second low forming half way between Penzance and Cork on 15:55 radar ? What would be the implications ?

Becoming really dark now in Thanet after a glorious Sunny morning. Something's brewing in the skies overhead now...

Agreed, temp has dropped from 1.6c to 0.8c in a little over 20 minutes.

Certainly feels like something is coming
