Does this pivoting improve the snow chances for Mid Essex?

The forecast on the MetO app is getting worse for this area with every passing hour.

When is the next chance of snow for us snow starved in the North of this region?

We've had nothing so far and it's rather depressing. My little boy keeps asking when can we build a snowman daddy?

I have attached our highlight from the BBC weather app for this evening......a Dark Cloud Symbol

Jebus... and down to sea level during the day. Looks like where Poldark was filmed!

Gives me hope for later.

Have a look now - settling on the beach.

Temp dropped from 2.2C to 0.4C over last 45 mins--Continental air influence ahead of the front.

Just seen the Met Office Amber warning map on their website. How on earth is that "London and the South East"?!

It covers a very small part of the south east, you need to click on more details to get the correct location of the amber.

Blame the New Forest. It wants to be in the SE and not the SW

I'm supposed to be doing a presentation at 3 and I've still got two slides left to do. And I'm on here looking at what's effectively a guarnteed snow event worrying whether I'll get 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 cm's. I need help.

EDIT: And apprantly I've got time to edit this post - must focus!

Driving there from Epsom shortly for my son's special needs judo at Hayes Rugby Club. The latest returns on the radar suggest no snow in the Surbiton or Uxbridge area before 8pm so I think I'll get back down the M25 in plenty of time for the big event:)

Along the occluded front which will bring our snow later, maybe some thunder snow for south coastal areas later?

I really hope so, it would be my first sight of thundersnow for the first time in my life!

Interestingly the front is moving faster than expected, even on the UKMO update at 14z on the radar (Is it a version of UKV, does anyone know?).

If this is the case, then that obviously is a good thing for those a little further north in this region for the heavier stuff.
