Amber warning out for Hampshire, I’m quite surprised it’s not been put out for some areas of our region to be honest.

Ive got work in one of the worst parts of Brighton tomorrow morning up in woodingdean, have a feeling that could be a fun journey to work

Lets not forget snow fans

Ive been in amber warning zones before and got diddle y squat

And been out of warning zones and got more than people  in them

Its radar time

Forget charts nowcasting what its about looking at others locations

And reporting

But saying it does look like missing

They've not gone Amber because they don't haver enough confidence yet, there forecast matrix suggests impacts are high enough to warrant an amber. Here, we still have some models giving a decent amount, some having the higher precipitation to the south, some stall the front to the north and decay the southern one rapidly leaving some relatively dry, others have copious amounts of showers forming into one area of heavy snow, etc.

Not enough confidence yet. We will only get an amber when its obvious the heavier stuff will reach our neck of the woods.

Hi peeps

Lovely sunny here in Walthamstow can just see the high cloud begging to appear in the far southwest. Can anyone kindly tell me around what time going by current indications is the snow due to hit the London area and also what is the current depth expectations as I am hearing conflicting  stories,

kind regards

You couldn't get a more 180 solution from the 00z to that! 00z had the ARPEGE solution...now HIRLAM looks like Euro4.

I'm very much NOT in the screw zone that time, 8-12cms here from the looks of that would be an outstanding result compared with some of the trash output offered this morning.

At this stage I only ever follow 1 model

& its the HIRLAM

Some in the mod-thread are desperatly looking for a breakdown in our regions  chances from this evening.

Ignore them!..

Alls lining up fairly well as we gain..

And an' Amber warning will likely extend in 2 parts of the region later...as the feature takes hold..

And the dreaded m4 corridor- looks to be overiden...(4 ONCE)

All 2 play 4...and indeed some WILL DO BETTER THAN OTHERS...that part is 1 of the best bits...as we lock on to the radar.

They do worry a lot, but they don't as a rule cancel planned work unless they are confident.

The fact he messaged me to tell me says a lot, this is out of the ordinary.

I'll give him his dues he's bloody good, excellent to have you in here KW, but it might be an idea to work out where your nearest defib is.

I remember perhaps the 2009 or 2010 cold and snow, KW called it so spot on that I always pay attention when he turns up... and get a bit concerned if he has concerns! Keep up the great work Kold, I am sure we are all hoping you get LOADSA snow ❄️

Also, thank you so much to @TomSE12 for those lovely pics from Ian Currie's books, great to see Surbiton of old in there and also the Thames frozen over at Kingston Bridge, amazing!

My decision now is whether to take my son to his special needs judo club in Hayes this evening. We drive around the M25 from Epsom to Hayes every other Thursday in the rush hour; it runs 6.15-7.15 but I'm a bit worried about the journey back as the predictions seem to suggest snow arriving perhaps by 7pm. I don't really want to drive back in the snow - I want to be at home loving every flake as it falls!

Beautiful thick frosty morning with blue skies, now THIS is winter:) Good luck everyone with getting a snow fix in the next 24 hours ⛄
