EURO4 is an upgrade for London, we've gone from 3mm total rainfall to 8-9mm. Hopefully we could see around 5cm snow.

The tv forecasts are going to be a little out of date but that doesn’t mean they are any more right/wrong  than the latest data ......fwiw, I have resigned myself to little of note here. We had our 2/3 cms last Tuesday night ........l

Actually it's 11-14mm if your in South London could be some significant accumulations.

I don't often watch tv forecasts but caught the bbc tonight, my thoughts were that any where 20 miles inland on the central south coast would be my spot.

After the main front it had a line of showers coming on to the coast travelling west along the coast and then off again, these looked to keep going for quite a time after the front.

Good upgrade from the Euro4, brings onshore the strongest of the precipitation which gives some fairly heavy snow into Hampshire and W.Sussex. This also helps to keep the frontal system long enough to reach London with a fairly decent intensity.

Interesting to see those showers packing into the southern counties, that has been quite well advertised by some of the models tonight.

Am not getting the Conveyor coming out of the Calais area towards Kent pushing West North Westwards through Kent, Surrey, London etc

Where are the BBC getting that from, it looks like the Precip approaches from the SW heads NE, Pivots and Peters out ?

Anyone know from the above graphics what models are showing that ?

I only really spotted them on there tonight, have been paying to much attention to the front if they travel the same path for a big part of Friday could be some nice totals onto a nice bed laid down by the front.

None other than Essex Weather themselves for that chart.

What a disappointing winter it's been here.

Hi Lottie,

Lovely photo there. Was that before you won my Snow Depth Cup?

Regards,

Tom.

I think it was - wasn’t the snow cup in 2013? This photo was from summer 2011.
