Looking at the radar I calculate Ely has roughly 2-3 more hours of moderate to light snow, and it’s all now settling, so  optimistic for a good 3-4cm now. Happy days! A good result at last

Absolutely nothing falling here

Transition to snow now complete in Locksbottom.Temp dropped from 3.4 at 7.30 to 2.2 at 8.30.Maybe just maybe we might get a good covering if temperature continues to drop.Would think favoured spots like Biggin Hill Knockholt Halsted etc will have lying snow by 9pm if intensity is kept up.

Surprisingly, it's already settling on cars in Chelsfield after only a little while.

Snow should clear here within the hour, and should leave a decent dusting on the cars and grass. Think i'll struggle to make more than a cm on the car, but we'll see.

Drove from Purley Way to Dorking about 7-7:30 (was there to buy some cheap warm gear for my trip to the Canadian Rockies on Saturday) and it was raining then very very heavily sleeting then snowing at the top of Pebble Hill. Driving down into town and it turned back to sleet but now it’s snow. I think the MetO will be spot on with their ice warning, there’s so much standing water out there - massive puddles on main roads. Be safe tomorrow folks.

Oooo my ears just pricked up. Whereabouts in the Rockies are you going?

Looks fairly light but has already settled on grass and cars and looks to be starting to settle on the pavement (Surbiton, SW London/Surrey).

Large flakes mixed in with the sleet now. Turning time, here in Chingford NE London, on the edge of Epping Forest.
