I don't want to put a downer on it, but what is behind the main front isn't very exciting. Still a sleety mix in Reading. When it did snow, it was amazing, but it didn't last long. Temp still hovering around 1c, and DP similar.

I'm sure there could be a few localised exceptions, but I'd be surprised if anyone gets anything lying.

You got the precipitation before sunset though, some of us are still dry.

light wet snow but the ground is saturated now

But its still snow! So your forecast of not seeing any this winter is now a total bust.

Temp static at 3.4 in Locksbottom and steady rain as forecast.Looks like transition could be about 8.30-8.45 here to snow.Like the idea of backbuilding as may give us 3 hours of steady snow!!

Good luck to everyone

Maybe the more experienced members should try to educate rather than criticise members who perhaps use the forum less or have a lesser understanding of the weather :

Anyway, the radar seems to be pepping up a bit towards the back end of this. Ice could be quite dangerous tomorrow!

Nobody's criticising anybody for lack of understanding. It's the ones who do nothing but dig out other posters for trying to predict the weather, while doing little of that themselves that erk.

Jokes aside, halfway under the front now and still rain.. and upon inspection the dew point has actually risen by 1c!

weather apps have it turning in about an hour or two more here, but by that point i think it'll have shifted completely past Hunstanton

Think i was always a bit too north but still will hold out hope and stay positive for those further south facing a couple cm later on

After heavy rain for the past hour, the ppn has got lighter, but there is definitely a hint of wintriness about it... A few small flakes mixed in with the rain now.

Actually, it was dark before it started raining, but yes the timing will have had some effect. I'm not saying you won't get snow, but the temps are just not dropping off fast, or low. 1 or 2c lower and it could be very different.
