Just got home

happy to see 2.9c on the screen !

Im looking at the radar feeling that what im seeing reflects more inensity & across a wider area than models like the Icon depict-

Front feels very slow which is great news...

Hi Steve, I did some calculations and converted into 'radar' code so to speak, and basically its about where the ECM expected to be it as this point. Not sure about the ICON though. some light rain here at the moment, I'm probably going to have to hope the backend does the trick, it is possible.

Hopefully someone  can provide forecast of times the snow or rain may reach. In ashford weve had drizzle all afternoon

It's currently just west of London, I'm thinking an hour or maybe more. Looks to be moving very very slowly which is very good news

Think yourself lucky to have 0.5cm of slush I’ve got that much rain on the ground already

No marginality with raging North easterly winds with embedded troughs, that’s all I’m asking for, not that much no? Oh....

Will be a shocker with all the background signals/low solar minima and positive signs from the global models if we get through this winter without a day or so of cold easterlies (and I'm not talking daily maxes of 4 or 5c either) :oldlaugh:

3.6 and falling...It's almost as agonising as listening to Jacob Rees-Smugg commentating on MoTD!

Rain Today radar suggests some weakening of the intensity of the rain band to the west and south of London.  If that's right it won't do much for prospects around my area in Reigate as I imagine it will continue to weaken as it moves in.

In Stevenage it’s 3c with a Dp of 1c - at 110m asl. Precip just arriving, hoping to transition to snow fairly quickly as it only needs to drop 1c

Temps just aren't dropping enough here with high humidity & all rain so far but I'm quite south.

If you wouldn't mind holding it there for me an hour or so until I get home from work, that would be appreciated

Still an hour + away from the south east on my estimation. Plenty of time for dew points to drop!! The more east you are the better.

On another note it is moving SO slowly. If we get to the stage where it falls as snow from the off, then things could be white come tomorrow morning.

Temp and DP dropping fast now in moderate rain in Reading.

The rain is definitely proceeding the radar at the moment. It's been raining for at least 45 minutes here but showing as clear still for this postcode
