Amazing how so many people keep mentioning 'cold' persisting on the model thread and BBC forecasters saying lows running into cold air...punch me when 'cold' arrives as today got up to 6.3c only fractionally below normal for the time of year and yesterday only marginally colder, these daily maxes are just not noteworthy!

As for tonight really not expecting anything in my neck of the woods...don't mean to be a killjoy but just saying it as I see it and I've recorded winters since 1983.

Temps and dp's dropping from the NW and SE, dp's to the west of EA going negative.

Radar turning more pink and plenty reports of snow to our West and Northwest.

Just got home

happy to see 2.9c on the screen !

Im looking at the radar feeling that what im seeing reflects more inensity & across a wider area than models like the Icon depict-

Euro 4 goes for 5-10 over the downs which I think it top heavy

I would be happy with 5 here-

Front feels very slow which is great news...

let’s be honest considering the promise this winter this is absolutely feeding off scraps. But again my location being in Brighton on the coast probably is effecting my view on this, I will admit.

All seems a bit meh to me, there will be a fast melt regardless as there’s no true cold.

Was in Eastern Latvia twice recently. 12 days over Christmas and 5 last weekend. Had snow laying the duration of both trips. Over a foot in parts. But I want some here.

It was minus 3 to minus 10 most days and right now it feels much colder.

Currently on Hastings seafront.

This wind is brutally cold. Only went to the shop 2 minutes away and my hands are red raw.

We had sleet here at lunch time and there is something wintry in the rain now... not to be expected at this time?

Wind variable but mostly S/SE.

I am 100 metres from the sea but let's see what tonight brings.

Brrrrr :cold:

Has the front decayed a lot?

Managed to dodge the showers moving up from the South Coast for the most part apart from a brief drizzly spell so ground isn't that wet at all...plus the front seems to be moving nice and slowly so dare I say it...looking good so far.

4.2C and cloudy here.

Can't wait for my 0.5 cm of slush!  Yipeee!

Think yourself lucky to have 0.5cm of slush I’ve got that much rain on the ground already

No marginality with raging North easterly winds with embedded troughs, that’s all I’m asking for, not that much no? Oh....
