5-8cms roughly from the ICON, but the big difference is the fact that its now coming down over a 3-4hrs period, so a higher rate of snowfall, especially in a sweet spot over Hampshire and into Sussex.

Let me guess... over your house ;)

Bubs home from school, comfys on, mug of sweet tea and christopher robin on the telly. Cloudy and the breeze is getting up. any rain? I don't think so.

I do really feel so sorry for those Croydon Council guys, out there with a bag of Wilco gritty salt, spreading it carefully on the Council Chief Exec' drive for a couple of hours only to see it rinsed off at 10pm. What a waste of talent. And £5.99

Yeah the GFS is really being very stubborn with this idea IDO. Especially given nearly every other model is doing something different! I just can't imagine every other model handling that wrong. Interestingly the slant of the front is now nearly the same as the other models at the same time, so clearly its taking in some milder air from somewhere, but not obvious why.

(EDIT - looks like it has a pretty stubby secondary feature that doesn't elongate enough...given the GFS didn't even have this feature 3 runs ago, I suspect the GFS is behind the curve on this one.)

Worth noting though it has actually moved a little towards the other models and isn't quite so aggressively pushing away the low dew points, hence why we now have front edge snow as opposed to straight into rain.

On the other hand, ARPEGE still looking pretty hot!

Problem is unless it’s very heavy, most places are going to have saturated ground... snow obviously can stick on wet ground but it’s not ideal.
