Think this does work better - somebody in Norwich is going to get very different weather to someone in Brighton.

Think East Mids & EA would be better and then London & SE.

I do believe that is how regional boards where set up originally back when you had to register to read them, I think it’s a non issue if you get the right set up both regions tend to do well

I hope the Mods don't change it either.

Lovely and cold out now.

The difference is only a 100 miles or so - tiny on a hemispheric scale but significant on a local one.

Its just so frustrating, the promise of gold, and receiving copper,6 yrs since ive seen a decent snowfall,2-3 days ago,it read that we would be hammered, now if im lucky in my location,I may see 1-3cm

I don’t post very often but I’ve been a member since 2012 and I read all the time. I’d be really sad if this board got split. Valued posters from north and south of the region and a vibrant community feel. When the board was split during the beast last year it lost something imho.

Take a break perhaps. It might take your mind off it.

It’s never a promise - you should know that.

It's fine, it's just hard to work out what someone in London means when they say 'high snow risk for the region'. Do they mean Southern England or East Anglia too?

Ask them

Everyone on here is happy to help others and they all love talking about the weather, and not just from an imby perspective. Unless you get snow and I don’t..... I might not be so helpful then

Perhaps if we asked them nicely they'd send some of it our way???

More like fire up the jet, and send a dartboard low across the atlantic

Ok let’s cheer things up in here. What secanrio would you prefer. Answers below...

a) a huge snowstorm of 2 feet followed by rapid thaw next day.

b) a cold spell of a week of sub zero temps with only light snow throughout the week and maybe 4/5 cms Max

c) a few sliders in a row. 5/10 cms every 2/3 days for a week.

d) a month of sub zero temps but no snow just plenty of sunshine.

Me personally I love extreme snowfalls so option a for me

A all day long for me! Imagine!

And it must be snowmanbuilding quality snow, the kind you can roll up like a carpet. No powdery stuff that you can’t make into a ball haha!

I'm not too bothered about this week, as one of the things I have learnt over my many years on here is - once the cold is in place and here - then its easier to see a more sustain period of cold and snowy weather coming in - whether in two days or two weeks.

Remember we got a fair bit not just at the end of February, start of March last year but also in the middle of March.

Relax. I'm gonna crack open a beer and watch the rest of the footy.

I’ve had the fortune of experiencing a snowstorm of more than 2 feet in 24 hours. It was amazing. Truly one of the best things I’ve ever experienced

This is exciting as it suggests a repeat of last year's Beast of the East, right?

No just colder temp anomalies...not bone chilling cold straight from the Urals like last February/March just more entrenched cold originally from the Pole with fronts running into it, Cold yes but not the meaty easterly that we strive to experience.
