Well I'm sure everyone in our region is hoping as I don't this the snow this week is going to amount to very much and it. Won't be nice and dry snow either

I hope for the sanity of the mad thread if nothing else they're right Sleety... but so far this winter the Met Office extended has been about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! Even a clocks right twice a day.

Well I think everyone in our region is hoping as I can't see the snow this week mounting to very much, and it won't be nice dry snow either

Let's hope it comes off, I hate wet slushy snow

Same people each year that creep into this thread when snow is upon us and post the same negative posts each yeah trying to bring the house down.

Thought they might have seen someone about it by now.... Not sure how one can live such a depressing and negative life.

Well up yours because most of the time this place is happy and jolly full of wonderful people and very wise people.

Now..

Onwards..

There's having an opinion then there's the people who only show up when it's about to snow to try and spread negativity

Oh well. having been here since 2004, I let most things go over my head. I usually don't care on whats posted, if its not of interest to me.

Strange that one Tom (Dec 2010) in my neck of the woods snowfall was never that deep, only about 3 inches max at any time in that late November to December spell and often it melted relatively quickly within a day or so but heard places in West London, Surrey, Kent etc received up to 8 inches and even Paul Sherman in Leigh received far more than here in Burnham - that is why I hold December 1981 in much higher regard than the fore-mentioned spell (here anyway).

True that. The early December snow that year 2010 was rubbish here in Wimbledon but just down the road in Sutton Croydon etc they got plastered. I remember the trams from Wimbledon to Croydon were cancelled due to snow, there was about an inch here at best but there was about a foot in Croydon and  all the way down to Gatwick and Brighton Bonkers.

Am I right in thinking that was caused by a stalling front in an easterly does anyone recall?

For Thursday ICON gives 4-6 hours of snow across most of the SE, bar closer to the coast and further west (precipitation rate helps). Midlands does best.

Lol it’s very disappointing the low has done exactly what I feared though, luckily we have this secondary wave feature that might produce some transient snow overnight

Yep models are upgrading this each suite of runs. I think we are close to the point where the north parts of this region has all snow, and even the south get a good transient event.
