My money is on the UKMO. Surely can't be wrong 48 hours out?

The UKMO is a good model, especially in the shorter term but it can and has been wrong, on many occasions, even at T48. Best to temper expectations, it’s looking close to marginal for most and that’s if the low doesn’t go SE through France. Of course, with high risk scenarios there can be a big snow event but quite a few parameters need to work in our favour.

Wonder if Norwich will see much or any snow this week? We're north east of the ppn so I'm worried it's marginal for us. Any thoughts?

Yeah it'd be nice for us to get some snow as the South already had a covering a few days ago, that we missed out on.

Correction... some of the South did all I saw was an awful lot of cold rain! Besides you look to be in a better position for Thursday/Friday... all subject to change of course.

Me too. I'm in eastbourne. It was said on here earlier that we would struggle. Don't know if that's changed or not.

Hi! I'm an eastbournian born and breed and while I was still there, a forecast came on the telly for snow. I said to my now hubby 'Don't worry it never snows here' and we woke up to 6 inches the next morning. Keep the faith!

What do people think the snow total will be for East Sussex? METO have heavy snow for here in Brighton and on the PPN METO charts it looks like a sweet spot..

15cm here?..

6 inches of settled snow on the coast in Brighton is a big ask from this type of set up !

Don't worry, it won't snow, you may ask how I know . . . . . , well I'll tell you . . . . .

Last week my wife bought a sledge for our son, not unusual you might think, but I hadn't broken the first rule of snow club (don't mention the "s" word) and still she purchased a sledge, a sure omen to scupper our chances . . . . . .

I’m meant to be going up to the Emirates to watch Arsenal v Cardiff on Tuesday evening, arriving back in Haywards Heath around midnight. If the snow could all just pile on once I’m back that would be great.

It may be a big ask but we got 13 inches last time in 2010!

The precipitation intensity may well be that much again.

So many variables to depend on. If the snow arrives when the temperatures are colder, I wouldn't rule dismiss 6 inches for the whole of the south east and for somewhere 1ft!

Absolutely but this is no 2010 situation then we had a spewed out bit of the polar vortex over us and the results were spectacular !! Good luck with those predictions,  none of us really know and that’s what’s great about the weather.

I have been there, 18 Dec 2010... just as we got to the station the Mrs phoned me up Arsenal v Stoke postponed it could of been worse we could of been on the train.

Well if that ECM run is correct, there won’t be a lot to make a fuss over, maybe a few cms here and there

Theres another wave ahead of the cold front arrival but given that it head in during daylight hours, it’s mostly rain. And not much steam left on the front when it arrives either

Hopefully by tomorrow 12z we should have some clarity

Looking at the forecast Redhill area of Surrey isn’t going to see all that much. What are the chances it’s wrong?

Who does the blinking CH4 weather? Man with a stupid sounding voice just showed London as rain on Tuesday and dry on Wednesday:bad:, leaving out the crucial overnight period.

So annoying!

A more pressing question, is who watches C4 news and weather?!

Using CH4 to forecast the weather is like farting in the wind...

@Mods

Is it possible to add a 'Poll' option on this forum? It would be awesome to have a poll where we can as a community predict how much snow will fall?

Just thought that would be cool!

ICON-EU is showing 1cm cumulative snowfall for Brighton by 6pm Wednesday maybe that is the starting bid !
