I'd take even a watered down variation of that Mr M. Imagine if that verified?

Noticed a light flurry this morning in Ely - nice to see, the first proper flakes of this winter season. No settling though but looking like tonight is going to be the first proper freeze up of winter.

The good thing is most of  the charts are showing signs of optimism now for snow potential and cold so we will have to see, especially into next week, with an emphasis on easterly blocking currently taking place. Interesting times to be a chart watcher that's for sure!

Looks like another 'beast' can't be ruled out.... maybe this time with more atlantic disturbance and more snow for those that weren't so lucky last time... but we'll have to see. Still relatively low to moderate probabilities of a significant cold event, could end up far less exciting yet!

Obviously a lot of excitement later in that 6z run, but how are snow prospects looking next week overall for this region, I’m guessing we need the proper easterly to drag in the snow showers...

ECM / GFS blend is snow for the SE tues

Lovely cold crispy and more importantly sunny winters day . Never get why people enjoy mild but cloudy/ wet days in winter , give me snow/cold/sun any day

The radar has just switched from rain to snow for the SE - not sure if this is a computer error or suddenly just hit cold enough air to turn it to snow. Seems strange

Yes it snowed, only for a few minutes though.

lovely clear day so nice to feel fresh north wind for a change. Great visibility from the Epsom Downs towards London.

The ‘snow is coming’ conversations started in the office. Amuses me how everyone takes the current forecast on their apps as gospel lol

To be fair, when I left home (Codicote), it was raining. When I got to work, Potters Bar, it had turned to snaw.

There was some brief, heavy convective rainfall in Hastings this morning. No Snow unfortunately... God it's been a tiring week, Mock Exams galore!
