I saw a rat by the bins here last week, put poison down and watched it gobble it all up, must have been hungry, not seen it any more, cute looking rat.

Never seen a rat here before, was a big one too. But I got rid of a family of mice in the garage autumn just gone, they turn up every year looking for somewhere warm to start a family. I got peanut butter traps set up where they climb up on the roller covered in peanut butter, and they fall off into a bucket of water where they drown. Works a treat.

CFS is now taking on board the SSW effects. Jan 18th onwards could be a very cold period lasting well into February

No, a rat on your head...sorry, I got a lisp today. Anyway, good goat, you'll need quite a few rats then. If I find my dead rat I'll send it to you ok.

A year ago, on 3 January, Storm Eleanor had hit and I had a £1500 bill to fix the damage to the roof.  I hate lying awake listening to bits of my house hitting the ground.  This winter's weather may have been boring so far but relentless rain is just horrible, gales are damaging, and anyway it's lovely being able to walk the dogs in trainers instead of wellies!

One more week at work then I have a few days' holiday to use up.  It's looking as if the most interesting week of winter is still to come, perhaps it will be when I can get outside and enjoy it!
