Some of the high res models are starting to pick up a bit more PPN for tomorrow, nothing to get carried away about but if you catch one it's certainly cold enough for a few flakes of snow.

Such a shame we are only getting rain. The chill is in the air. It was freezing helping hubs put out some more Christmas lights outside. The breeze is something else.  Our part of the village is at least looking a bit festive 8 out of the 13 houses have lights or a wreath, and in next road someone has crimbo music playing outside.:reindeer-emoji:

Very nippy out there today, accentuated by that wind. I may do some Geminid meteor hunting tonight.

Nice and seasonal feel today. Cold and dry and with that wind having a bite to it.

If it isn’t going to snow, give me this kind of weather any day over Atlantic, mild wet crap.

It has not felt as cold as this since March nothing compares to continental sort. Hopeful some of us will see some flurries tomorrow ECM certainly conducive London north to ‘sea level’ away from coast.

While it’s not looking like whiteout tomorrow I think a decent number of us in the SE could be pleasantly surprised and see some falling flakes. This bodes well.

Still doubtful in Bedford we will see anything but rain.

Forgot about the regional`s, I`m straw clutching at the ready for Saturday, this is not a done deal folks (just wet). Chuffed Mr Murr hasn`t given up the ghost either. Let`s hope tomorrow picks up the baton which today has given. clench those straws folks, clench.

Oooo will we see some last minute flurries??!! It's so frustrating to have this biting cold easterly with no snow! However things are still sounding good for an SSW so it's not like we haven't got more potential to look forward to!!xx

Geminid hunt over! Spectacular night, very starry, and a grand total of >110 meteors!! Two fireballs were also seen. I feel very relaxed and peaceful now, but also very tired and cold lol

Morning all,

Sad day for me today. I'll be attending my Cousin's funeral this afternoon, over at Hither Green. That's the 3rd Funeral there, in two years, both my Mother-In-Law and Father, died last year.

Always looked up to my big Cousin. John was a devout Mod, always smartly dressed with a Mohair Suit or a Sheepskin. I can still see him now, sitting astride his pride and joy, a Lambretta Scooter.

John was quite a useful footballer, in his day and made a few appearances for Charlton Athletic's reserve team, in the old South East Counties League. Another "claim to fame" football wise my Cousin had, was that he took a very young Tony Cascarino and Teddy Sheringham, football training many moons ago. Both became Millwall goalscoring legends. Ironically, Cascarino played for Crockenhill (near Swanley, Kent) in the Kent League, a club one of my Uncle's played for, also. Gillingham signed Cascarino from Crockenhill for a transfer fee of a new roof on Crockehill's stand plus a set of tracksuits, for the first team. Cascarino hails from St.Paul's Cray, near Orpington, Kent. To prove that it's a small world, my Brother-In-Law was in the same class as Cascarino, when they attended the same Secondary School ,in Orpington.

I see the GFS 00z teased SAMMY SNOWMAN, with a toppling N/N.E. flow for Christmas Eve. Still some chopping 'n changing to come yet, before we can be sure what the weather will throw at us, on Christmas Day.

Regards,

Tom. :hi:

Some snow flakes in the air around Gillingham.

Nothing serious but nice to see again!

About one tiny flake with 3 bits of sleet, but it's something

tomorrow afternoon between 4 and 6pm might spring a surprise or two but everything will need to fall in place.

Spotted on the car at 8am this morning! Are they tiny bits of graupel?

The METO warning has slammed south in the latest updates.

Very close to us now.

Although the garden was 0c there wasn't any frost here, in fact it certainly didn't feel as cold ( but yes it was quite chilly) but the wind has gone. Phone gone mental because I'm now in an yellow warning for ice. Super. need to go shopping tomorrow and the supermarket don't like gritting their car park. Nor does the school so thankfully no issues there.

No white stuff here. But my truffles were yummy.

Been a long chasing week but the signs were there. Lets hope for a proper shower not a flake in the wind.
