A fairly decent day, dodging the heaviest showers and seeing quite a lot of sunshine. Still mild....

For now.....

Second downpour of the day is rolling through Southend at the moment. Lots of surface water and a couple of rumbles of thunder.

The heat and drought this year's summer is seeming increasingly distant.

Saw anvils all around at dusk, driving back to Englefield Green from Ashford. Looked amazing. Then saw a flash of lightning towards central London. Dry here though.

Massive flashes here!  No thunder, although, I realise that doesn't always follow....nice change from the fireworks.  Looking forward to some cold, crisp, weather.

The line of heavy showers showing on the rainfall radar has just passed overhead here at my daughter's house in Rochester with very heavy rain for several minutes and a few rumbles of thunder fairly close. The Blitzortung radar showing the lightning strikes.

Well we have had everything here in Locksbottom area today.Hailstones, heavy rain, thunder, lightning, rainbows and some warm sunshine at times and temp peaked at 14.1 here.Really wasn't expecting as much rain as we have had.Ended up getting soaked 3 times today and gave up work at 3.30 after the 4th heavy shower of the day lol!!.Thankfully rest of the week looks much better and signs are it will start to turn colder by the weekend so Jack Frost may be about from next week❄️

Thunder, lightning and heavy rain in the last hour or so, but clearer skies with the stars showing now.

Still a lot of electrical activity to the East over Brighton at the moment.

I do not know what it is about Thurrock but there has been no lightning here.  Lightning rarely ever comes to Thurrock and seems to always miss our area of Essex.

There was rain and what sounded like hail but that was all the exciting weather I got.

Torrential rain, hail and gusty winds in the last half an hour as a storm cell ran onto the Sussex coast off the channel.

Several loud cracks of thunder, sheet lightning and 3 super CC forks witnessed overhead.

Hey SJ!

Nothing but a couple of showers here today, not a bad thing after the persistent squall line we were under Saturday morning and then the regular heavy showers yesterday.

Seem to have missed the showers this evening though the wind picked up again this evening.

HI Lottie!

It's like a decade or so ago again tonight conversing with you and lsf on a weather forum again!

This mobile spell of weather has produced 75mm of rain here in the last week, the majority falling on Wednesday and Friday.

Let's hope it is snowfall rather than thunderstorms that have us all meeting in the not too distant future.

The rain here in canterbury is crazy had a few hefty showers with lighting earlier, haven't heard any thunder for the last hour, but heavy rain constantly with some intense downpours

It's going to get very busy on here very soon, if what the people in the model thread are dicussing comes off ❄❄❄⛄⛄
