Between today and Wednesday there is a real good chance of the record going. 20c looks really possible to me as well.

Temperatures look about 1c up from where they were yesterday thanks to higher upper temps allowing a quicker rise from the lows.

Very spring like in terms of cold mornings and borderline warm days.

Is this February on track for the mildest second half on record as well?, the mild weather of the past 10 days has been exceptional.

With out doubt this winter is the worst for over a decade, even 13/14 had rain and storms, this winter...nothing. Fingers crossed this summer is the opposite of last year, the rain fall totals certainly need to be increased, never seen levels this low at this time of year, very worrying.

Yup, and by a long way. The current warmest second half, from the 15th onward, is 8.4C from 1926 (2nd and 3rd are 8.3C and 8.1C, 1846 and 1912). This year looks like creeping above 9.0C

EDIT: Just to add that I'm referring to the CET, rather than UK temp.

Trawsgoed has hit 19.1c at noon

0.7c from breaking the all time UK February record!

Amazing! Do you know where I can follow the latest temperatures as they update?

20C has got to be surpassed now, it's only noon!

It's the warmest day of the year so far with 19.3c in Trawsgoed

It's the warmest February day on record in Wales with 19.3c in Trawsgoed

With another 1-2hrs of warming, the record looks like a done deal to me given we are at 19.3. 20c still looks on as well. Even London area looks like getting to 18, maybe outside chance of 19c today.

Warm out there, especially in the sunshine.

So a few milestones in sights over the next two hours: the winter record (19.7C), the first ever 20C in winter, and the first ever 70F in winter.

London not far behind Trawgoed, already over 18C today.

Tomorrow could go even higher, which is just bonkers.

Sitting outside for lunch a minute ago in just a shirt, even here on the slightly cooler south coast (currently 15.3C here in Portsmouth), unthinkable, may never happen again in February in our lifetimes.

I stood outside chatting for about 20 minutes and my leg was starting to get hot in the sun! Amazing day. I think the record will go. Over 17c here which is superb.

I think tomorrow there is a legimate chance of 70f, profile aloft looks a little warmer again.

Certainly is exceptional, whilst GW may make these sorts of temps more likely, this is remarkable for it's sustainablity.

London is indeed not far behind, probably will see 19c somewhere in London as well.

20c today, maybe 21 tomorrow. Amazing.

And, despite a plethora of long-term records having already fallen, the current warm spell is nothing out of the ordinary...Well, according to those who said 15C was 'impossible', anywho!

This spell has kind of been like Summer 2018 here as in there has been persistent warmth but my monthly record high hasn’t been threatened much.
