Brb - going for a dump.

Try not to get blown away by it..   Sorry someone had to say it.

On a more serious note completely dry and clear here at the moment which feels weird after 9 hours of rain you almost get used to it.

Well, after missing the heavy rain at the beginning, we had a nice little deluge between 00:00 and 00:30. 64.4mm/hr rate and 7.4mm falling.

The wind speeds weren't as bad as forecast, but still fun nonetheless.

The highlight was seeing that portaloo going for a walk.

I'm surprised its not too bad atm swaying a fair bit but not the rollercoaster I thought it would be. Can't open the starboard side door due to wind but otherwise ok.  Got that squall line to contend with soon which could change everything!

Not in my usual SE spot right now but am a few minutes East of Liverpool and from approx 1am til 1.30am the wind was immense with splatters of rainfall throughout. I thought it was a squall passing through to begin with but after 5 mins guessed it couldn't be and radar shows no squall for round here!

for those that do get a squall line passing, it should be a good'un just don't go outside!

Had a short but sharp squall pass through locally around a hour ago, viscous enough against the window at times to begin worrying about preparing for a broken windowpane or tile coming off the roof. Luckily everything has held together in place but still slightly grumpy now with it being 02:45am and more squally rain is on the way.

Edit a peak gust of 56mph was recorded in Buxton at 02:33am

That squall line was evil but incredible at the same time! We are now well and truly on the rollercoaster! Sea seems a lot rougher on the other side of the line. Currently watching all the stuff in the shop slide about and have wagers on what will fall off the selves next

Thankfully the rain ceased here Davis reckons 65mm but this probably too high. Breezy but nothing of note here. No squall here but we normally miss those.

That was a lively night.  Howling gales and torrents of sideways rain around 1.30am.
Made the security light keep coming on .. which helped to see the storm. I was concerned about

possible flooding too but it seemed to be draining pretty well.
Can't spot any damage so far thankfully.
Made a full 2" in the  guage after at least 11 hours of rain here.

Well a lack of an amber warning for rain one cannot understand. 70.5mm of rainfell. 3rd wettest 24 hours since 1989. Winds not warranting a warning here peaking at 47mph.

That squall line packed a punch last night! Few branches down on my way to work but nothing major, reports of a few trees on the ascot to Guilford line and logs blown onto the m25.

Was out last night with my brother and we parked away from this massive chestnut tree full of chestnuts they were dropping out the tree, anyway we went to get a beer come back and a huge branch had snapped out and was in the road.. Good call

I was under the impression named storms came on the back of the UK or Irish met services issuing Amber warnings

The flooding that happened in some areas due to rain met the criteria. In fact quite surprised an amber wasn't issued for that. Also there were trees down in a few se areas, probably elsewhere too.
