You're right, this is a great webcam.  Things are certainly ramping up now

Last reports I heard 2 hours ago is that there was 3000 without power, I expect once more lines are downed the webcams will continue to drop leaving only a few periscope/YT streams as an option. Not many can afford satellite-phone fee's as charges are astronomical (excuse the pun) even for just a 5 minute call.

So Florence is now a Cat 1 hurricane. Think a lot of people over there will be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Yeah some on the coast are still going to get some flooding unfortunately. But looking at some news reports this morning this doesn’t seem anywhere as bad as first feared thankfully.

Far from over yet the Storm Surge from this will be sadly the news headline like predicted a few days ago from the Nhc.

This is giving live updates ( saves trawling through lots of pages) ..

Question though is Florence still off the coast ( this says 75 miles) so they haven’t got the worst yet? .. sorry am out of touch.. she’s a cat one now I understand . Slight bit of relief I suspect but still doesn’t reduce the biblical amounts of rain due..

I think the worst will be later rather than sooner. Althougg the wind speed drops i believe the sea has to play catch up, meaning a lot of flooding later. I may be wrong as im still trying to learn myself, so feel free to correct me

Understatement of the year award goes to ........................
