Yes, seen it - unfortunately though they've took the beach one of so we cant see the pier get destroyed.

Florence showing up nicely on the lightning/radar picture.

If/when it hits Myrtle Beach then there is a good webcam here:

https://www.earthcam.com/usa/southcarolina/myrtlebeach/?cam=myrtlebeach_hd

It doesn't look too bad there at the minute, although I expect in the next 24 hours it could get quite wild.

We still need a lot more hurricanes in the next month or so, from what I gather at the moment this is still a below average season, the more hurricanes, the more chance of blocking in winter apparently.

ACE is higher than 2013-15 (more on par with 06-07) but yes, still below average.

Camera is shaking all around now, and the flag is ripping.

Latest ECM - not a downgrade. Gusting up to 140mph at first landfall (overnight to night on the islands) and the maximum gusts only moderate very slowly, as the eye remains offshore for most of the next 48 hours - gusts still up to 100mph by Saturday afternoon at Myrtle Beach. Rainfall totals between 25 and 30 inches across a line from Myrtle Beach to Wilmington, and quite a large area receiving 15 inches or more, perhaps covering an area 200 miles wide.

Its about 1 hour from low tide at Hatteras on the outer banks, next to ocecokey Island, the waves arent leaving any dry sand and starting to run up the sandbanks. Once the tide turns and the surge starts properly, I expect the swimming pool to the left to disappear.

Most frequent waves
The most frequent wave height will be about half the height of the significant wave.
18.4 ft
Significant height
About 14% of waves will be higher than the significant wave height (about 1 in every 7 waves).
36.7 ft
Maximum waves
It is normal to expect a wave of twice the height of the significant wave about 3 times in 24 hours.
73.4 ft
This means at this moment you need to be prepared for a wave of 73.4 ft before heading out on the water.
