Snow flurries continuing and adding to lying snow, off beat roads that have not been gritted only passable with 4 wheel drive and/or winter tyres.

Ref comment earlier on the thread about winter tyres, they are not just for snow, but also are excellent in wet condions especially when temps are lower. Granted you are at the mercy of other cars on the road when snowing but it means you can take detours off the gritted roads and most importantly, your braking and control are far more controlled with winter tyres. There numerous articals about the grip on summer tyres dramatically reducing in low temps, some start to reduce from 5 deg ambiant.

But all in all it’s really down to individual perceptions and the type of roads you have to negotiate over winter.

Couple of school kids managed to build a few snowmen there in the school field.

Yep really foggy everything frozen solid.... dicey icy roads... 2-3 inches snow.... lovely winters day...going for a walk over the tops in a bit... just put some more food out for the birds as they look very hungry...

Got the lightest most patchiest of dustings here, i keep looking at the radar and its de ja vu it seems with that line of showers just skirting to the south of me, nevermind thats just how the weather goes.

At least Barmada is happy though - thank goodness.

Morecambe is a truly dire place if your looking for significant snowfall, a once in a 20 -25 year event perhaps?

I would not say I am as much happy but pleasantly surprised. This is far from a significant fall, and overall it has been a poor winter, aloof better than 16/17 that's for sure!

Still in the warning area but would be surprised if affected.

No surprises there. Hopefully the cloud cover should keep the snow cover here in the next couple of days maybe even Freezing fog to start with!

I was thinking the same but they still must have some doubt about the track of it? Which is the only plus I can take from the situation! haha

just in a warning zone 🤪

If the low goes further south then the warning from the north east should to.

Drove from Nrth Liverpool to South Liverpool it normally takes 30 minutes, it took an hour and a half. Snow definitely thicker here, the roads are dreadful even Queens Drive, Mather Ave etc

Nothing here but damp ground, what a pathetic winter this has been and not holding much hope for Feb delivering either, hopefully the summer will be decent

Slight thaw at the top but sneaked some measurements in while the cloud still kept it about where it was this morning, probably a bit lower than what it was this morning but 2.5cm (1 inch) on the pavement, and 5cm (2 inch) on the grass. Wish I'd measured last weeks but think it's deffo more, feels more wintry anyway so must have been a heavy shower or two whilst I was sleeping.

If we don't get something more substantial from either Thursday or Sunday I'll be a bit disappointed in this cold spell to be honest.
