I’m no longer feeling confident about later. I’m currently under a heavy shower behind the front and it’s still sleet. The snowflakes are really wet. The cold air is here now. And this is the best it can do

As far as I can see 850s are still around -6; we don’t get the coldest -8s until around 10 pm. Also the flow slackens off steadily during the evening and we have to give a chance for DPs to fall after the front; so still looks really promising to me. If nothing has happened by 3 am then I will get disheartened but I think it’s too early to worry yet personaly.

I'd definitely keep your eyes peeled from c. 5pm onwards, with occlusion incoming from the North West. Will pep up any shower activity you see this afternoon.

Proper snow now, big flakes, settling on the pavement. Hopefully provide a decent covering for anything tomorrow.

Cloud now clearing exposing blue sky, temp has risen again to 4.5 degrees. Looks like it will drop very cold tonight but not confident on any major showers coming in to this area. 😞
