If you mean north east that's because we have a complicated dual signature due to the low deepening. That line from Scotland through Ireland essentially merges with the stuff in front and pushes it all south east.

Keep your temperature and precipitation reports coming.

Sorry i did mean NE and cheers SB..

Snowing hard here, temp 0.8*C. Have recorded 4mm of rain since midnight so I think it is melting, only a couple of cms on the ground.

The slight bit of extra height is serving you well - we've have just sleet, ground very wet, need temperatures to drop a bit more, hopefully that will happen soon as the colder air digs in behind the front - but might be rather late. The rest of the day could bring a few potent snow showers especially this evening and overnight.

Plenty going on between today and Friday then.

Inland should do ok from today's main band, coastal areas should do well from snow showers tonight and tomorrow and then there is STILL the possibility of snow pushing up from the SW late on Thursday.

A correction North (for a change) would be nice.

As ever in these knife edge situations Thurs/Fri is going right down to the wire!

Think main emphasis should turn to 4pm onwards. Forget the front unless you live in the likes of Oldham. It’s the showers that’ll pepper us later. They’ll merge and with trough energy being injected, they’ll form their own little front, just for us.

Front is not with you yet. The bit over england is still advecting north east. Starting to merge with the one pushing south east over ireland though.

Uppers will be at their highest about now. Most of the region back in -5 or colder at 3pm though.
