The model is clearly picking up on the possibility of a streamer heading towards G Man and the Peak District.. https://expert-images.images-weatheronline.com/daten/proficharts/web/en/euro4/2019/01/28/basis18/ukuk/prty/19013006_2818.gif

If there’s going to be a decent break in precipitation before the front tomorrow, hopefully we’ll get some decent clear skies to drop that temp.

Oh great, now the Para has gone S with the precipitation from that Thurs LP. It's going to feel just dandy watching people post snow pics from all of 50 miles away

Wind is starting to back now and temp is falling away. Wouldn’t actually be surprised if we ended up near freezing by the end of the night. All models do not want much of a temperature drop but I’ve seen it before here.

Temp 3.5°C, DP 0°C.

Sleet/ snow has been brought forward few hours on the meto app... now starting at 9am... oh well will just have to see how the day pans out at work.  Might be more of a sleety mix to begin with.

Completely at ease with Thursday's low not reaching here with the south easterly wind  enforcing the GMcr snow shadow... but would have been nice for southern parts of the region to tap into it

Yes, not too shabby for the region on Thursday evening on GFS. Won't make much difference where I am either way as we will be in a rain shadow.

I had a cm of snow from a shower around 9.30 last night, but otherwise it looks to have been dry throughout.

not looking bad for today though with the Met O icons (yes they aren’t the most reliable) giving me heavy snow from 7am through to well into this evening.

yes a lot of it will be in the form of showers so very much subject to last minute change but we would have to be damned unlucky to not see a decent covering from today’s Synoptics.
