Most of Scotland is mountainous, lower areas (and most of their large settlements) are poor for snow. I think if I was younger I would move to Scandinavia or Eastern Europe for reliable snow each Winter. Or the Alps.

I'd like to live in/on the mountains though, proper weather and nice views what's not to like ?

Not this Winter though. It's been terrible everywhere. The Alps have had colossal snow though.
