Question:

How can a cold front occlude when there is no warm front preceding it?!

There’s a warm front also associated with that low. Probably why it’s forecast to be a rain to snow event

Good question, would be interested if anyone can shed light on this as it is rather odd!

It's all the hot air being spouted from the SE

Looking at the fax again, does the warm front over Northern France at midday swing North?

Anyway - onto the ECM

I’m expecting it to start to pick up the downwelling and things to get exciting in the next 10 days.

Low pressure is way to the south, its centre is to the south of the UK. So actually no warm front crosses the UK,  Its a cold front at 24hrs, 36hrs, 48hrs  and suddenly its an occlusion at 60hrs

#SNOW RISK MAP Here's the first 'Early' Snow Risk Map for Tuesday & Wednesday of this coming week. Expect changes to this, potentially even quite dramatic changes. Area's outside of any zone could still see snow whilst areas within could still see rain! #uksnow

Hmm! I’m unsure then! One for the pros or an error on the Met’s part!

1-5 cms, not bad if it's 3-5 anyway, only expecting falling snow here, not settling

One millimetre of snow and they close Heathrow. God knows how the tropical southerners will cope with ten centimetres!
