Hello! haven't been on for a while.. nothing of interest recently, and today has been one of those typically marginal (wrong side thereof;) kind of days today in my location. Lots of rain today, with some icy flakes from time to time, but no proper snow unfortunately. Maybe that will change this evening!

There you are! Been wondering where you’d gone You’ve had more snow than me today I think.

Shower activity really died now. Streamer setting up for those south of Chester. But north of Chester looks appalling for the rest of the night.

Just been to Buxton, even there they only have about an inch of snow. Below Buxton, it’s patchy cover at best. A really poor event. Met office automated forecast agrees with the lack of PPN from now until the end of this ‘wintry’ spell.

Manchester peeps - the line to watch is the stuff north of the IOM, into Galloway, and the incoming precipitation about to hit Fylde. If it holds together, it should reach Manchester, and deliver proper snow given temps are freezing or below. Fingers crossed.

Well that went well !

Showers dying a death as they reach the coast, but we had another dusting.

Skies now clearing and turning frosty.

Well this is very unprecedented. The temperature has just dropped below freezing in a north-westerly flow. Shows you what difference the light wind makes. Any showers now should be snow and have no problem accumulating.

Really didn’t expect it to get this cold. Running about 3° below the forecast temperature. It’s almost as  if there were an off-shore wind.
