Looks like a wind direction change in the last 20 mins more of a northerly now

Yep, NW'ly though. All eyes on that organised shower over Northern Ireland currently. Probably for the midlands and Wales. but could hit some of us.

The steering wind direction change was expected. It will remain NW until 10 PM when it will veer NNW.

Rough guess is this is what's going to happen: So Preston down to Cheshire.

Someone more knowledgeable will be a long to poo-poo this in a minute.772900385_export(6).thumb.png.8ed12baa058bd8500abb7fcbf07757f1.png

Yeah, I know poster was asking which areas are most likely to be affected.

It looks to be hitting a bit further north than initially forecast to me.

Hello! haven't been on for a while.. nothing of interest recently, and today has been one of those typically marginal (wrong side thereof;) kind of days today in my location. Lots of rain today, with some icy flakes from time to time, but no proper snow unfortunately. Maybe that will change this evening!

Yeah most of the time NW origin snow is rubbish. Give me an easterly any day. This pathetic slushy stuff is not a patch on a powdery beast.

Feb, there is no point trying to argue what is the best for our region it is too diverse.   For my location NW  represents the best chance of snow, OK it will take a pretty special one to deliver snow that sticks around.     So you can tell everyone all you like how rubbish they are for your area, but its meaningless to me.

Snizzle flurrying fog low cloud now... 0c

Random comment from me but I just love when it snows and the temp goes below 0c, you can just feel it? And it gets misty and 'dry'.  I'm hoping that is the case later.
