Yes, same here. Sky went a very weird colour too. My facebook was full of people uploading pictures of it!

Thought it was 120mm max

Euro4 has a blob of 150-200mm over central lakes ... one to keep an eye on I guess hopefully will push through and not get stuck over the high ground

It’s synoptically similar I just can’t imagine it could happen again so soon when the November 2009 flooding happened it was widely touted once in a lifetime then Desmond came calling surely not again ....

2009 more than 2015 IIRC. I was out on a rescue the night before Desmond, helping an Ambulance crew at an RTC. It started raining while we were out but the field we were in wasn't waterlogged at all. That said while it was hellishly wet, Desmond didn't affect Coniston as badly as 2009 or as much as other parts of Cumbria.

Looking like it might be more of a SW and Wales event .... I am sure some relieved people in Lake District , speaking to friends in Keswick area some concern still but not unduly worried.

A blowy old day out there with Callum making his presence felt. I suppose we cannot expect the crazy warmth from the other day to carry on.

Seems to be slow to start which is perhaps why no amber warning for Cumbria. I am sure it will be wet eventually but not the mega totals which looked a possibility last night ??

Yes some decent totals expected in the usual areas but after Desmond is there much left to wash away!?

Meanwhile in lovely FI
