Absolutely nailed on my prediction for today. Rain and a brief sleet shower is all we have just as I predicted.

All the talks of 'something significant' etc proving to be the usual ramping nw nonsense.

Something significant set to come in 7-10 days though lol.

Have you ever thought of moving to one of the farm houses at the top of a nearby mountain to your location? You might be less disappointed the next time a marginal snow event turns up.

Anyway, give it time; there's all day tonight and much of tomorrow for some snow to hit your location. I'm sure it will eventually.

This last shower has really made me appreciate the difference between "wet snow" and "proper snow" in a way I haven't before.

The last shower gave me a proper appreciation for "proper snow" over "wet snow", it was as intense as anything this morning, but the lack of wetness and probably the slightly lower ground temps really helped it just to settle straight away whereas this morning we were waiting hours for an as heavy shower to provide a full covering.

Appreciate sun-light plays a factor, but the actual make-up of the snow seems really important. This evenings spell felt a lot more winter wonderland and gave me the happy feeling snow brings normally much more than this mornings. It's odd how the same weather can have such differing emotional reactions depending on how much it is. I suppose it applies to sun as well, in that there's a point it becomes uncomfortably hot rather than lovely and warm. Similarly to how wind can differ from a nice breeze, to a bitter wind.

Back to rain again. Think I’m just gonna go to bed. DP isn’t low enough.

Snowing here and covering instantly at -1oC

Thanks for the update, i’d got settled so it saved me getting up and looking.

the roads were covered earlier when I went down the valley to the well known German supermarket but I thought that was it for the day so anything else is a bonus.
