Same pattern as yesterday, snowing most of Wirral except northern tip. Another joke of a Winter so far. Taking a break from this crap!

Snow prospects for the region:

Tonight - chance of an odd snow shower here and there - some activity over the Irish Sea

Tomorrow - southern parts of the region might see a bit of light snow later on and more especially overnight - one to watch, also interesting developments over the N Sea - convection will kick off as winds turn into the NE, some showers might spread into eastern parts of the region and also Cumbria lasting through into Friday.

Sunday - a developing situation, but it looks like a frontal feature in cold air will now cross the region bringing widespread sleet or snow, might be shortlived, but one to watch, potentially could give the heaviest falls of the season so far for some, depending on intensity and if it stalls..

In the meantime a very cold night, once skies clear, freezing fog for some.

Its a decent cold spell, but one you would expect at least at some stage in the winter.

Today also first day with snow cover, with no wind trees and shrubs have maintained the light dusting unusually whilst roads, and paths are mostly free despite there being no sunshine. Grass surfaces have maintained snow throughout. Proper winter conditions on the fells, avalanche risk in sheltered eastern coves and approaches..

No! 

Has been a lot of thawing today but we had so much in the first place a lot has lasted too.

I doubt there’s any left in the city centre. 

Tonight its all freezing over
