As far as I can see, for the southern half of the regions, showers are starting to gather momentum a little in the Irish sea via the North Channel Effect (aka Cheshire Gap), so it is possible these showers could get going in the next hour or two.

Ps.. I went out before to the shop, it really doesn't feel that cold here, even in the breeze.. most likely the coastal effect.. but the air is definitely drier, as I can no longer see condensation on my breath, meaning the showers, when they hit, are likely to be of snow. The current temperature is 2.9C

I’m thinking the same as many in here that Thursdays snow will end up short of all but the most southerly parts of our region but the BBC forecast just before 7 seemed quite bullish about moving it across all parts.

i suppose we have at least another 24-36 hours before we can firm up on its final path but in the meantime maybe some overnight showers for the lucky ones.

Good call! I'm sure shower activity is slowly gathering momentum in the Irish Sea though. At least I am convincing myself this is the case!

Probably but if the rumours that it’s raining darn sarf are true I might just have a look into the mad thread to cheer myself up.

In all seriousness, I am actually an armchair Toffees fan. Same old crap every year though.
