The radar shows the band of activity out in the Irish Sea to be on a SW NE track and missing most of the region.

hopefully this will veer more westerly but it’s currently looking good for Cumbria, providing of course it falling as snow.

Re above, it was always forecast to start as rain until cold air undercuts in the evening.

We start the day at 1.6C

This front is earlier than expected, could bode well for more showers later?.

Yeah rain for us too, so even if snow does appear later tonight it won't have much effect on sticking. It rained last night too. I always go by the language used the second anyone says marginal then in reality it means rain unless you live on a hill or mountain. That logic is yet to be wrong.

Morning all

00z EURO4 - if you look carefully there is a very unfortunate little slice in the Manchester area.

NWS’s favourite word - altitude! Still looking good for a streamer though

Snow from last night is still on the roads and roofs. Must be cold.

We should pray Thursday’s band moves north.

That is 10cm 15cm event. Day off work. Sledging with the kids. Building snowmen the full works.

I genuinely don’t think I can watch a 4th time where it just work across the midlands.

Why is the precip moving North west??

If you mean north east that's because we have a complicated dual signature due to the low deepening. That line from Scotland through Ireland essentially merges with the stuff in front and pushes it all south east.

Keep your temperature and precipitation reports coming.
