As has been said what looks good for us is the shower activity through Lancashire after the front.

Initially looks rain and sleet for me.

That's my thinking. Lower ground especially but peaks, Oldham, Saddleworth etc should be snow.

Later on when the showers for into a streamer will be good for lower ground.

Light shower here, rain but with ice pellets in the mix, hope it doesn't mean my car will be an ice cube in the morning but bodes well for anyone higher up if these showers pep up.

Got a feeling that a few Toys  will be coming out the pram in the Mad thread.

Gone from being buried to could be marginal.

Icon, euro4 and arpege although only for fun really do dump on the nw of England with snow and snow showers...the uk fax charts look good with troughs being seen now closer to t0

Cant beat a really good dump. Will it stay in the white zone of the dumpometer? All will eventually be revealed by mother nature.

Bloody hell

Its done that before.. its not a weather warning though.  Expect to see red if a pellet of graupel hits the steps of No 10.

 light sleety shower here

Might be a cheeky surprise for some around 8pm I reckon, maybe earlier if lucky in the West.

By saturday EC det has about 4-6 inches of laying snow across east of the region- Peak district/Oldham/Rochdale stretching NW towards Bury etc..

I must add that this is just an experimental though so maybe not to be taken too seriously..

Wouldn't usually expect if for 1-3cm and slightly below freezing temps thought. Suggests the healthcare system isn't coping in normal times for that to cause an Amber.

Looking at latest Euro 4 snow charts for Tues/Wed it looks rather marginal for many with DP's around 0

More specifically for NW England Cheshire may just get a wintry mix though Lancashire should do better.

If you are in the more Western and Southern areas of NW England we may well do much better from snow showers that follow on behind than the actual front.

Certainly that is what the latest Euro 4 snowfall/snow accum charts depict.

Plenty of gaps in above chart for snow cover after the front has passed through.

But DP's rapidly fall away behind and Cheshire gap snow shower are predicted beginning early hours wed and continuing through the morning

Which makes for a better accumulation chart by Wed afternoon for NW England, especially those places that missed out.

-1c dew -3c was clear now clouding up from nw.... if euro, ec, icon, arpege, arome  etc to be believed and the updated faxes showing troughs so all indications are that it will be quite showery in nw England after the cold front has passed....

Peak District forecast update interesting for tomorrow through Thursday but there after extremely uncertain...
