UK Outlook for Friday 1 Feb 2019 to Sunday 10 Feb 2019:

February will begin cold with rain, sleet and snow likely across northern parts, easing and edging slowly southwards. This will be followed by brighter but showery weather through the weekend, with snow showers in places. Thereafter, it will stay unsettled with further spells of rain, sleet and snow, interspersed by brighter and showery interludes. Snow is possible across most parts of the country at times, with the potential for some occasionally disruptive snow, although there is uncertainty in any detail. Winds will be strong with coastal gales, maintaining a significant wind chill and it is likely that there will be widespread frost and the risk of ice. Towards the end of this period there is a low chance that the winds will turn east or northeasterly bringing even colder weather.

BBC now has Thursdays missing us to the South, -  and light patch PPN - waste of time these frontal marginal events - going to be a complete non-event - time starting to run out for an Easterly now- absolutely gutted.

There looks to be plenty of snow showers coming in Tues judging by this.

Ridiculous the amount of times i miss out on these slider events, i literally cant even remember the last one, feb 1996? I really don't know, 95% of the time there too far south and 5% too far north.

I’ve got zero expectations for this week but you never know.  As an aside, does anyone know who does the Countryfile weather these days ? MetO or the new BBC crew ?

Come on cheer up you lot going to be a nowcast job in the extreme this week. It’s getting a bit like the mad thread with toys everywhere. i’m very optimistic and excited even though I’m in one of the worst places.

The flow is going to be  even more slack than last week and with 850s about 1.5 C lower than then; I think looking good.

Glad I'm not on my own then, for me maybe rain at first but snow chances later for us.
