Looks great. Every setup different obviously, but don't we often see these lows track further and further South nearer the time? It may not be the case of worrying whether it is snow or rain, it may end up bone dry! Some cracking outputs being shown at the moment though. Keep posting them.

Thanks mate will do. Next week is going to be a right headache to forecast, I think to begin with if we get to tomorrow eve still showing snow showers for Tues then that will do for starters. Wed now has snow showers too, the track of the low afterward won't be sorted til probably 24 hours out. Not boring that's for sure!

Selfishly all I don’t want is the midlands and south getting buried in snow from channel lows while we sit here literally green with envy.

showers are ok but amounts can vary hugely within a few miles, and as others have already said, having the low further north risks cutting off the showers without necessarily giving us anything from the system itself.

Give me a couple of weeks with Atlantic fronts bumping into entrenched cold air and dumping heavy snow and I’ll be happy.

Interesting forecast for our more northern members of the region for Monday, to quote bbc "a spell of more persistent snow moving in". That's certainly popped up quite late and will be a theme of the week I feel.

@iand61 I feel for you after today mate, watching Everton now from behind the couch. We have been bloody awful lately, a loss wouldn't surprise me at all.

TBH it was never going to be a different result playing City away but the score was a bit of a sickener.

anyway staying in the PL was always the main aim with the small matter of ending OGS’s winning start on Tuesday is our next outing.

to make matters worse i’m offering moral support to my wife’s dry January so I can’t even hide behind a bit of alcohol.

hopefully a utopian forecast which doesn’t vanish into thin air is on the cards

Two very boom or bust events on both Tuesday and Thursday in our region.

The pessimist in me is going for bust

no science in my thinking, just the way it always seems to happen for us.

Yup, another false economy, perhaps?

after reading pages and pages of posts in the south of England mod thread from people who couldn’t give a s**t about who else gets nowt so long as they have a full blown blizzard, I really want a countrywide event or that France gets the lot.

I really want that 950mbs low that was sitting to the west of the UK to sit over my house to be honest. 1-2 inches of snow fot 24 hours. That could be amazing. If we're going for what we really want.

A nationwide snow event please. In all seriousness. Like you say it's frustrating watching people cheer the low being too far south for your house.
