GFS has the NW with potentially a full day of snow Tuesday 29th.

Isn’t it the GFS which has moved the system south and got our friends in the south excited about disruptive snow or is this a different event.

That’s a different event on Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday is a north westerly again but much colder airmass than last week.

There's a low pressure up north westerly on Wednesday as well isn't there?

Thing is. With the NWly showers it’s tremendous fun sat watching them come in on the radar and commenting on here but they aren’t going to give you a heavy cover of snow. A dusting maybe 3-4 cm on higher ground. Hopefully we can get something more substantial next week .

Depends .... you could get lucky and end up under a streamer. A NW'ly is perfect for here as long as its cold enough. Time will tell.

Well I certainly didn’t just get a Dusting on 17/12/2010 that’s for sure and that was a north-westerly. Would like to know exactly what the thicknesses and 850s were on that night.

I’ve tried to find a picture of the red warning for that day but can’t.
